Create a Bot

  1. Open @BotFather in Telegram
  2. Send /newbot and follow the prompts
  3. Copy the bot token

Configure Privacy Mode

By default, bots only see messages that mention them or start with /. To see all group messages:
  1. Open @BotFather
  2. Send /setprivacy
  3. Select your bot
  4. Choose Disable
Privacy mode changes only apply to groups the bot joins after the change. Remove and re-add the bot to existing groups.

Required Permissions

For full functionality, make the bot an administrator with these permissions:

Ban usersBan/unban actions
Pin messagesPin/unpin messages
Invite usersInvite link management
Add new adminsPromote/demote administrators
Change group infoModify chat settings
The bot works with any subset — features requiring missing permissions will return errors.

Add to Chat

  1. Add the bot to your Telegram group or channel
  2. Promote it to administrator with the permissions above
  3. The chat appears in BotMux sidebar automatically
